    The LTD Black Metal Series is comparable in build quality to our LTD Deluxe “1000 Series” instruments, but with a dark and menacing design theme of all-black finish, components, and hardware, a single premium-quality bridge pickup, Macassar ebony fingerboards with no inlays and glow-in-the-dark side markers, and even a newly-designed black metal LTD logo on the headstock. With the LTD Phoenix Black Metal, you get a powerful extended-range version of the Phoenix with seven strings and 27” baritone scale. It features neck-thru-body construction using a three-piece mahogany neck and mahogany body wings. The outstanding tones on the Phoenix-7 Baritone Black Metal come from its Fishman Modern 7-String Humbucker pickup, with a push-pull control to select between its Modern Active and Modern Passive voicings. This guitar also features 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, LTD locking tuners, and a TonePros locking TOM bridge with string-thru-body.

    I was really excited to get this guitar in.  I purchased it almost 10 months ago and it finally arrived.  Unfortunately I am sending it back.  First, the build quality is good. The frets were great, the finish was flawless and nothing felt cheap.  The issue came with the design.  When I put a strap on to try it out, the neck dove worse than anything I have played in a long time.  It want past flat and angled down.  The second major issue is the strap button is on the back which made it angle away from me.  So now I have a guitar where the neck is diving and it is angled away from me so I'm holding it in place and my arm is hanging over the edge since I can't even see the strings.  To be honest, looking at some of the pictures, I should have seen this and not actually accepted the guitar when I was told it came in.  But it looked awesome and I was excited about it so I went all in and got the case too.  I don't understand how a guitar manufacturer like ESP can design a guitar and not put a strap on it and see if it has these issues.  I mean, you just need to stand there and you see the issues.

      I a 6 string Phoenix for a while and had the same issue. I moved the strap button to a different location and it solved it. I ordered this guitar months ago and still haven’t received it. Can’t fucking wait.

        6 or 7 string version? The 6 string has been out for a while and I've never heard anyone talk about neck dive.
