I love the way this guitar look and plays but I Have one problem and that's with my the 3 string which is G. It detunes like crazy and to my its pretty annoying does anyone know how to fix it.

I have a ec256 that had the exact same problem. It got a little better after I installed Schaller machine heads, but was 100% fixed by installing a graphtec nut.

I just got one of these and I'm happy to report that it plays and sounds amazing. I wanted see how well it sounded compared to my 40th anniversary Strat and my Ovation Preacher so I put the replacement power tubes (that I've been sitting on for a year) into my old 30th anniversary Marshall half stack (I don't really have a thing for "anniversary" models, the Strat was a good deal and the features on the Marshall sounded really cool when I was 17 in '92 anyway,) with no effects, just raw tubes. It took a minute to get the tone dialed in and my hands warmed up but holy smokes! It was so smooth and crisp. I was on it for a couple of hours playing everything from Megadeth to Zepplin. The amp has no reverb but the guitar has so much sustain it completely filled in all of the potential gaps! Two thumbs way up!

The only down side to it was that it didn't come with an owners/set up manual. I'm guessing that v1 is nothing pulled; v2 is the neck pot pulled and v3 is both the neck pot and tone pot pulled. I bought it from Sweetwater and they set it up, but the manual didn't come with it. Is there actually one for it?

Mark, I got the same guitar recently. Love it. I was able to find the manual here on the website. It links to http://cdn.growassets.net/user_files/esp/site_assets/000/000/436/original.pdf and page 7 is probably what you are looking for. I think the V/V/T is the picture you are looking for.

Based on what is written on the page we are on right now, it looks like Voice 2 is what is engaged without the pull.

  • NECK PU Fishman Fluence Open Core Classic Humbucker Black *(Pull Tone for Voice 1, Pull Neck Volume for Voice 3)
  • BRIDGE PU Fishman Fluence Open Core Classic Humbucker Black *(Pull Tone for Voice 1, Pull Neck Volume for Voice 3)

I wasn't able to plug in until this week to play around and it took a little to get my bearings, but think I finally did.

  • Bridge Volume is first in line - no push/pull there, just volume
  • Neck Volume is in the middle - has push/pull (engages voice 3 for any of the three pick-up selection options)
  • Tone is "last in line" and has push/pull (engages voice 1 for any of the three pick-up selection options)

I think Charles Barkley sometimes says "I could be wrong, but I think I'm right." That is the route I am taking with this. Haha. Any ESP rep that wants to correct me if I am wrong, please do!

Enjoy playing! Such a beautiful guitar!

Pre ordered this back in February. Back then the estimated ship date was 3/12. Then it was pushed to 4/24. Now 6/25? My excitement for this guitar has gone stale - which is a real shame. Should have been upfront with the production issues from the beginning!
I'll likely cancel, bite the bullet, and get a LP.

It’s sad how guitar companies don’t include hardshell cases. I understand they cost money, but if they bought or made them in bulk, they would not. Simple marketing.
