NOTE: Due to ongoing challenges in the global supply chain, instruments purchased from ShopESP that are not currently in stock may take an extended time frame to be delivered.

The LTD Black Metal Series are guitars that are comparable in build quality to our LTD Deluxe “1000 Series” instruments, but with a dark and menacing design theme of all-black finish, components, and hardware, a single premium-quality pickup, Macassar ebony fingerboards with no inlays and glow-in-the-dark side markers, and even a black metal LTD logo on the headstock. The M-HT Black Metal offers this design in a 6-string 25.5” scale hardtail version with an alder body and three-piece extra-thin U-shaped maple neck. Its features include a Hipshot bridge with string-thru body setup for sweet sustain and stability. For brutal tones and excellent dynamics, you get a single direct-mounted Seymour Duncan Blackened Black Winter passive pickup, with a push-pull control for coil splitting.

I forgot to mention that this guitar is stellar.  Everything, for what I like, is here. The only thing that sucks, and every guitar manufacturer still rarely seems to grasp this, is that the volume knob is in the way. I can't understand why builders still do this primitive placement.  I just drilled a new hole and moved it. I'll patch the previous hole, fill it and repaint it to color match. Other than that, the guitar is amazing. I'm planning on swapping out the outdated Floyd Rose with a Sophia 2:92 and changing out the machines to Graphtech ratio locking tuners. I'll also switch out the tuner buttons to the Industrial style found on the Merrow guitars from Schecter. That'll make this an epic keeper.

Hoping for a 6 string Baritone model in the Black Metal Series!

This model with 26.5 or 27 inch scale would be greeeaaaat.

I own

M-7BHT BARITONE ARCTIC METAL

and I think this is the best guitar possible for my needs. If this ever comes out with baritone scale, I am buying this at once!

is it possible to offer several colors for this model? see thru red, gloss black

Hi, The Black Metal series is all about the look being dark, but sure it is quite possible that we could expand colors or similar models in the future. Thanks for your suggestion.

I absolutely love my ESP/LTD MHT Black Metal guitar, it plays like my other ESP's, fast and smooth.  I also like that I can easily set it up in a different tuning really fast, No floyd to play with!!

glad you enjoy it!

Jshannon3 Hey I saw from your profile you also have an EII MII...how does the "Extra thin u" profile + 43mm nut  on the BM compare to the "thin u" + 42mm nut on the EII MII? I understand they are different build qualities, but I'm just curious how you think they feel. I ask because I generally do not prefer the "extra thin u" and was hoping the wider nut makes it feel less cramped
