MH-10
BLACK
The LTD 10 Series is designed for beginners and players on a tight budget who still want a solid instrument for the money. The MH-10 includes both an excellent starter guitar and a gig bag so you’ll be able to take your instrument to lessons, or out to your friends’ homes for fun jams. The MH-10 has a smooth, comfortable, thin U-shaped maple neck that will make it easier to get around to chords and scales all over the fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets. It has a well-balanced and contoured basswood body that's good for playing while seated or standing. When you're ready to rock, the MH-10's ESP Designed pickups are great for any genre of music you like to play. Available in Black finish.
Looking for a guitar for my nephew. He is early teens but pretty keen and good. Would the MH10 be classed as a 'beginner' guitar? He has a cheap brand already but the action is ridiculous and I can't help feel he would enjoy and improve more with something decent to play on that will last a while. So really looking for something that's a bit more of a 'beginner' model. Can someone pitch in and advise?
Hi Anton, you need to make sure the nut string height clears the top of the frets so that the strings do not buzz. Each guitar might vary due to variables in wood and paint sanding. We suggest taking your guitar to a technician to change the nut if you are not sure how to do it. But if you get a nut that is higher than yours is now, you can always lower the string slots (you will need proper files/tools to do this).
Hi Anton, Thanks for your comment. Don't worry about the nut. It is common and almost universally a standard now that most manufacturers use molded plastic nuts. The quality is good now, not like the dull sounding plastic nuts of many years ago. If you want to make an upgrade you can always add a bone nut later but that will cost you extra money to have one cut by hand for your guitar. A better option is to purchase a Graphtech nut which are the best quality brand of molded nuts. But honestly most people will not hear a difference in sound or performance.
