I have one sitting in my cart ready to order. I'm curious if they come with a decent setup, like intonation , string height and such. I have no problems tuning a FR guitar , changing strings etc.. and have owned several. But I can't set one up properly to save my life. I always have to take it somewhere initially . If they get a good setup from the factory and it's basically ready to play out of the box, that would be awesome.

You will never get a perfect setup from a factory made instrument. esp/ltd, ibanez, and prs seem to be the best. Always plan to take a factory made guitar to a tech/luthier to have it setup for your playing style. Setups are personal.

mine was set up pretty nice, intonation was perfect, neck was straight, the only think I needed to make a tiny adjustment on was string height and that was just personal preference. but, it is super easy to do all that yourself, it seems intimidating but you can just follow an instructional video

Any chance this will come out in an HH or HS configuration? That would make it an instant buy. Also, how about a whiteout version?

Most excellent!!! I absolutely love this guitar! I swapped out the .009’s for .011’s due to the thinness of the SD Black Winter pickup when playing clean. Other than that, I have zero issues with this basic powerhouse of an ax! And for $900 you can’t go wrong with a neck thru! All high end parts and the simplicity! My first ESP and will not be my last! I’m 53 and still jam!!!

glad you're enjoying it and thanks for sharing!

Does the floyd version come with the push pull coil split now, cuz i saw that the hardtail version comes with one so does this one have it too.

Nope. No push/pull on the Floyd version. My only complaint. Not much of one, $15 and that is rectified!

This guitar looks awesome with Floyd Rose, single pickup, the reverse headstock, & all black. The only drawback that is holding me back on pulling the trigger to buy is that it is not available with a bolt-on neck. I’ve had neck-thru guitars in the past and I did not like the tone. I love my other LTD bolt-on models. I wish I could play one in person to try out but I have never seen these or most of the LTD lines at any music store.

thanks for the insight

All of my guitars are neck thru. Personal preference. You will be super happy with this slinger should you pull the trigger! I promise!

I finally pulled the trigger on this and it is everything as promised. The minimal design with all the upgraded features are outstanding. Perfect as is, no need for any future modifications. It is ready to play out of the box. The neck through design is starting to grow on me as I prefer bolt on construction. Super value! FYI, I had a shot to get the EC-Black Metal FR, but I am glad I held out for the S-style body instead. Hope the Black Metal series stays in the line up for a long time to come, I want to check out the EX and Phoenix styles too.
