The ESP E-II FRX is a very bold design that is made in our Japan-based factory, like all E-II models. The E-II FRX combines curves, points, and bevels to create a totally unique guitar shape that will stand out from all the others. This guitar offers set-thru construction, with the three-piece maple neck extending into the body to create a super smooth heel for fast access to the highest frets. The E-II FRX offers a mahogany body with flamed maple top, a comfortable thin-U neck shape, and an ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets. High-quality components on the E-II FRX include ESP strap locks, Gotoh locking tuners, and a Floyd Rose Original bridge. Its sound is powered by a set of amazing active pickups: EMG 89R (neck) and EMG 89 (bridge). Available in ESP's exclusive Reindeer Blue finish. Includes hardshell case.

So a few years back I was thinking about getting the frx 407 or the seven string Flying V esp had at the time before discounting them. And I chose the frx. I have a lot of complaints it sounds really weak at the time. And after I swapped the emgs  for the Seymour Duncan soap bars (Nazgûl and sentient) (they turned out to be passive) and that turned out to beef it up slightly. 7/10 I should’ve gotten the Flying V

I've had mine since 2015 I think, and it's a beautiful guitar. Neck is very chunky, but I have big hands, so I have no issue with that. I love the clean tones especially when I pull my volume knobs in the out position (sorry the technical term for it escapees me). I get so many compliments on it.

I got one of these coming soon, i'm excited to see how it handles, i was worried because the flame maple was discontinued (apparently) but i am glad the mahogany is still around

Can anyone attest to how they sound with an old line 6 POD 500x setup? maybe direct me to a site with some good tones for it ?

Thanks for this beautiful machine!

When are more of these guitars coming out? I've look almost everywhere and their are just pre-ordering them. No one has them on stock. I guess the pandemic is playing a role on the delay, but it be nice if we had an official date on when these guitar come out.
