Florian Soum: "The Unforgiven" solo

ESP ALL ACCESS COMMUNITY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT! Released August 12, 1991, Metallica's fifth studio album was simply self-titled as Metallica, but has ever since been known as The Black Album due to its ominous dark packaging. It's hard to believe that 30 years have passed between then and now, or that the iconic guitarists who helped create it -- James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett -- would still be rocking ESPs three decades after its release. But here we are, and ESP All Access member Florian Soum does an outstanding job on this note-for-note cover of Kirk's solo from the fourth track of that album, "The Unforgiven". Florian is using his ESP Standard M-II, a guitar that today would be most similar to our ESP E-II M-II, and was the original basis for Kirk's ESP Signature Series KH-2. Florian is a French musician and guitar teacher, and we thank him for this timely submission to our community videos!

If you're doing cool music with your ESP, ESP E-II, or LTD guitar or bass, upload a video to the ESP site and we might select you as the next ESP All Access Community Member to feature on our front page where thousands of other players can check you out! Get the details here.
